If you heard the show this morning, you know I spilled a really big mug of water all over my work station (luckily NOT on the actual radio ‘board’ which houses all the technical controls). It could have been a total disaster. And the added bonus of being on air is that my boss heard the whole thing and came running armed with t-shirts to soak up the mess as soon as we went into commercials. He wasn’t pleased.
This lead us to asking you some of your worst workplace disasters and some of them totally put mine to shame. Such as:
Scott Wigner I fell asleep at Home Depot during a work orientation that was being done by the assistant manager at the time.
ames Murphy I work in a plastic recycling plant…one night when i was a foreman we ran the wrong material into a silo… around 30,000 lbs of wrong material onto another 30,000lbs of plastic… so a 60,000lb screw up…. Was fun giving myself a written warning as foreman LOL
Adam Dammeier I’m a framing carpenter, I once forgot to frame a window in a wall . Nobody noticed until there was siding on it
Colin Sansom 2″ gas main ripped in two, enbridge the had to come in and welded shutoffs to the main to stop it cause they didn’t want to shut down the gas to 31 condo buildings
Roy Nichol A few years back, I dropped a 125 thousand dollar server off a counter. Man did I get it that day. Boss put few marks on the box it was shipped in and we marked it doa.
Michelle Ferris Elliott Spilled tea on keyboard and transcription equipment. I was 38 weeks pregnant at the time, so tired and just burst into tears. It got fixed and I didn’t get into trouble.
Thanks guys for making me feel better about my clumsiness. I also got a few leads on sippy cups for adults. Our listeners are the best!!
