AC/DC singer Brian Johnson has been told by his doctors to quit touring immediately or suffer permanent deafness.
The band have postponed all shows on their current U.S. leg of the Rock or Bust tour until further notice, including the Buffalo show on March 29th. Ticketholders can return tickets at point of purchase or hold on to them to be used when the shows are rescheduled.
An official statement from the band has floated the idea of using a ‘guest vocalist’ to honour shows if Brian can’t continue, but it would be tough to imagine an AC/DC NOT fronted by Brian Johnson; he’s been in the band since 1980. That said, there is precedent for carrying on with a new singer: Brian is the band’s 3rd, after short-serving founder Dave Evans and the legendary Bon Scott.
Regardless of what the future holds, Brian Johnson will go down as one of the greatest rock singers in history. Most casual fans know him for songs like Back In Black or You Shook Me All Night Long, but lets honour his body of work with 10 performances that you probably haven’t heard (at least in a very long while). Some of these may surprise you.
