Pearl Jam singer Eddie Vedder and Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor have been named as part of the cast list for the upcoming TV series of Twin Peaks.
Vedder and Reznor are named among a cast of 217 people released by the producers of the showshow, which returns next year for its third season – 26 years after the second season was broadcast.
It is not clear how big Vedder and Reznor’s parts will be. NIN guitarist Robin Finck is also named in the list.
— Guns N’ Roses have expanded their summer reunion tour of North America with the addition of four US concerts. The Not In This Lifetime Tour now includes second shows in Chicago, IL, Foxborough, MA and East Rutherford, NJ, as well as a new date at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.
— Blink-182 have announced that they will premiere the song “Bored to Death,” this Thursday on a Los Angeles radio station. It’s the first single from their forthcoming album.
— It appears that despite heated discussion over broadcast rights, Steve Miller will perform on the televised version of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, performing ‘Rock’n Me” and ‘The Joker.”

1982—While on his way to rehearse with The Clash in London, singer Joe Strummer had a change of heart and boarded a train to France, which caused The Clash to cancel a tour. Strummer re-appeared three weeks later claiming he was suffering from exhaustion.
1986—Van Halen reached number one on the Billboard 200 Album Chart for the first time with 5150 which was their first album with Sammy Hagar singing for them. The album spent three weeks on top of the chart.
1997—U2’s television special U2: A Year in Pop became the lowest rated prime time program in the history of network television at the time of its airing.
1998–U2 made a guest appearance on the 200th episode of The Simpsons. According to writers, U2 contacted them about making an appearance and the writers immediately wrote them into the episode.
2003—David Lee Roth apprehended & detained a knife-wielding intruder trespassing at his home in Pasadena, CA. Roth kept the intruder at bay with a shotgun.

School Name Proposal: Schoolie McSchoolface, Of Course
People have apparently been inspired by the “Boaty McBoatface” fervor: A racehorse was recently named Horsey McHorseface, and now Schoolie McSchoolface has been proposed as the new name of an elementary school in Austin, Texas.
The school district voted to rename Robert E. Lee Elementary based on feedback from parents and the community about the Confederate general’s somewhat controversial historical role, and asked for new name suggestions.
The name with the most nominations at 45? Donald J. Trump Elementary.
