There’s been high interest in the accusations first brought against former broadcaster Jian Ghomeshi in the spring of 2014. Yesterday it looks as though his legal troubles may have finally come to an end. In court, he signed a peace bond and read an apology to Kathryn Borel, the complainant in a sexual assault case that was slated to go to trial in June. In return, the Crown dropped the charge.
In case you haven’t seen them, I’ve posted both Ghomeshi’s apology letter and Borel’s statement to the media here. Give them a read, and leave your thoughts below.
Kathryn Borel’s statement. The X’d-out portions were censored by the CBC on legal grounds.
