What is one of your favourite cities to visit? Mine is definitely NYC! My wife, Emily and I went down to celebrate our anniversary and had a blast once again. Some of the highlights from our trip include to going to see a taping of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. One of the guests was Nick Jonas, who gave everyone in the audience tickets to one of his upcoming shows. I knew if I wanted to make it on TV I had to act excited… haha one of our friends sent us this screen shot from the TV:
There’s so much to do in the city. We saw the 9/11 Memorial, walked through Central Park, checked out some awesome dinosaurs at the American Museum of Natural History, and of course walked around Times Square. The other thing I love about New York City is all the little bars and restaurants off the beaten path. A few years ago a friend ours introduced us to this great little piano bar called Don’t Tell Mama. It’s pretty cool, there’s a mic that the bartender uses to do harmonies while pouring your beer.
We decided to try a few different hotels while in town. They were all part of the Library Hotel Collection, which have few in New York plus others around the world. The first one we stayed in was the Hotel Elysee, which is up close to Central Park. I have to say, amazing room – I’ve never stayed in a room that had a doorbell!
Then we moved down to the Flatiron district and stayed at the Hotel Giraffe.
Loved that this place had a balcony!
We then headed back up to Times Square and stayed at The Casablanca Hotel. Talk about being right where all the action is. If you are familiar with the city, this was the view from the top of our hotel:
The front desk employees were really friendly and helpful at all the hotels we stayed in. I would recommend any one of them if you’re heading to New York City!
I took some more and pics and video while on the trip. You can find those on my Instagram / Twitter and Facebook pages if you’re interested. Links are below:
