Singer John Anderson of Yes said that Rush’s Geddy Lee would be joining them on bass in place of the late Chris Squire to play their 1971 classic “Roundabout” when they’re inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame next month. Except… it’s not going to happen. The Hall has released a statement saying that Geddy will only be on hand to give Yes’ induction speech along with Rush bandmate Alex Lifeson.
The 5th Annual Rock Against MS Benefit Concert & Award Show goes down March 25th in Los Angeles, and will feature former Guns N’ Roses members Steven Adler and Gilby Clarke, Alice in Chains’ Jerry Cantrell and Mike Inez, as well as Rudy Sarzo of Ozzy Osbourne/Dio/Quiet Riot/Whitesnake fame and Foreigner’s Jeff Pilson.
U2 will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of their 1987 album The Joshua Tree by releasing an anniversary edition packed with extras. Besides the original album, the 30th anniversary edition will also feature a live recording of the band’s Madison Square Garden concert in 1987, B-sides from the recording sessions, remixes, and an 84-page hardback book featuring never-before-seen photography shot by The Edge during the original Mojave Desert photo session for the album’s artwork in 1986.
Poison drummer Rikki Rockett is getting ready for the band’s first headline tour in years, and is also celebrating a major milestone this week: the 1st anniversary of being cancer free. Rikki underwent experimental treatment for his oral cancer that continues to be in remission.
