Pearl Jam shared a handwritten letter on social media thanking and inviting all of their former drummers to appear with them at their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony next month. Dave Krusen, Matt Chamberlain, Dave Abbruzzese and Jack Irons will join current drummer Matt Cameron and the rest of the band.
Metallica have announced that they have recruited DJ Mix Master Mike to be part of the upcoming North American leg of their WorldWired tour. He’ll entertain fans once the doors open each night and in between bands before Metallica plays their set. Mix Master Mike has won Grammys and been inducted to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Beastie Boys. Metallica roll into Rogers Centre in Toronto July 16th.
Record Store Day celebrates its 10th anniversary on April 22. And for it, two limited-edition David Bowie albums will be released. The first is Cracked Actor (Live in Los Angeles 1974) that is seeing its first-ever official release. The other is Bowpromo, a recreation of a rare 1971 pressing that featured alternate mixes of songs that eventually wound up on Hunky Dory.
K.Flay released the second single from her forthcoming album Every Where is Some Where on Friday. Called “High Enough,” the song focuses on not needing alcohol or drugs to appreciate a moment.
Country music star Brad Paisley has tapped a couple of classic rock legends to guest on his forthcoming album “Love and War”, which will be released on April 21st. Creedence Clearwater Rival’s John Fogerty co-wrote and sang on the album’s title track, and Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger lent his voice to a track called “Drive Of Shame.”
