Tool fans are still waiting patiently for the band’s new studio album, but in the meantime the band has announced eight new headline dates in addition to their appearances at the Governors Ball and Boston Calling music festivals this spring… including May 31st here in Hamilton at First Ontario Centre and the Bell Centre in Montreal a couple of nights later. Tickets go on-sale Friday at noon.
Metallica are the latest band to jump on the trend of guaranteeing album sales. They saw their latest album, Hardwired… To Self-Destruct, enjoy a 209% jump in sales last week, up to 79,000 units. That puts it at #2 in the Billboard 200, up from #14, after the record was bundled with ticket purchases for their upcoming summer tour.
The Who have announced that they will be going Vegas this summer by launching a six-show residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in late July and early August. It’s still to be determined if thees shows will be a continuation of the rock-opera Tommy 2017 shows or will simple feature their greatest hits.
Pink Floyd’s Another Brick in the Wall: The Opera will go on the road next year. The announcement came after the premiere of Another Brick in the Wall: L’Opera on Saturday (March 11) in Montreal. It’s based on Pink Floyd’s 1979 double album “The Wall”. The first U.S. showing is scheduled to take place in July 2018 at the Cincinnati Music Hall, including the 70-piece Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, eight soloists, and 48 chorus members.
