AC/DC singer Brian Johnson made a surprise return to the stage last night along with Led Zeppelin singer Robert Plant as special guests at a Paul Rodgers concert in Oxford, England. The Bad Company singer brought out Brian and Robert for an encore of Barrett Strong’s “Money (That’s What I Want)”. Brian was forced to pull out of AC/DC’s Rock or Bust world tour after being told by doctors that he faced permanent hearing loss if he continued on the tour. Check out the video:
Guns N’ Roses singer Axl Rose joined Billy Joel on stage at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles over the weekend for a cover of AC/DC’s “Highway To Hell”. Axl’s used to the song; he sang it with AC/DC when he filled in for Brian Johnson. Axl returned during the encore to perform Billy’s 1978 hit, “Big Shot”.
If you were hoping for a reunion of Led Zeppelin at this year’s Desert Trip festival in the Coachella site in California, I’ve got a double-disappointment for you. Coachella founder Paul Tollett says that they won’t be doing the festival this year, which means that the Zeppelin rumour was probably just that all along. The rumor spread after a blog claimed anonymous “industry sources” told them Robert Plant had agreed to reunite at this year’s festival.
