Late Soundgarden and Audioslave singer Chris Cornell will be featured on a new Johnny Cash album, called “Forever Words: The Unknown Poems: The Music.” The album is based on a book of Cash’s poems, which was found after Johnny died in 2003. Some of the poems date back to 1944 when he was only 12 years old.
Have you ever wondered how a band writes a hit song? Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda and Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus wrote a song together, from scratch, while on stage at the 2017 MIDEM Keynote presentation in Cannes, France. I don’t know if it’ll be a chart-topper, but it’s pretty cool watching them create something from nothing:
Last week’s Grenfell Tower fire killed at least 79 people and injured dozens… So Simon Cowell organized a charity cover of Simon and Garfunkel’s classic “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” which features more than 50 prominent musicians—Including The Who’s Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend and Queen’s Brian May—as well as survivors of the tragedy.
