Stone Temple Pilots have announced the deluxe reissue of their debut album Core would contain unreleased bonus material. Not they’re sharing a demo of “Sex Type Thing,” an earlier prototype of the album’s lead single. The Core re-release coincides with the album’s 25th anniversary and will be released in a number of different configurations September 29. Check out the “Sex Type Thing” demo here:
Def Leppard are streaming the first part of their mini-documentary, “Step Inside: Hysteria At 30.” It opens with a look at the fallout from the 1984 car accident that saw drummer Rick Allen lose his left arm, and the struggles of seeing if he could remain as part of the band. The documentary will be released with the upcoming 30th anniversary reissues of Hysteria, due August 4.
The Rolling Stones’ Mick Jagger belatedly celebrated his 74th birthday by releasing videos for a pair of new songs: “England Lost” and “Gotta Get A Grip.” Says Mick: “I started writing these two songs a few weeks back and wanted to get them out to you straight away… they’re about the changing political situation in the UK. I didn’t want to wait until next year when these two tracks might lose any impact and mean nothing.”
Weezer have once again taken inspiration from the 80s hard rock scene for one of their music videos. Their latest clip for the track “Feels Like Summer” is inspired by a famed Guns N’ Roses music video. The band filmed the clip in late June at a weekend festival in Pasadena, CA.
