The Who will release a 5CD box set of singles entitled “Maximum As & Bs”, on October 27th. It compiles all of the band’s A-sides, B-sides and EPs spanning their entire career in one place, for the first time. The 86-track package traces The Who’s career from their first single, 1964’s “Zoot Suit” – recorded as The High Numbers – to the group’s last recorded track to date, 2014’s “Be Lucky.”
Foo Fighters will be playing a very special show this week. The band revealed that they will stage a rare intimate show this Friday (August 4th) at the famed Metro venue in Chicago. The Foo Fighters new studio record “Concrete And Gold” is set for release on September 15th, and the band will launch a North American tour beginning with their Cal Jam 17 festival on October 7th in San Bernardino, Ca.
Jack White’s record label posted on social media that the former White Stripes star has been busy at a couple of studios working on his next solo album. We don’t know much about it, other than he was recording in New York on July 27th, then across-country in L.A. July 30th.
In the years since Nirvana, bassist Krist Novoselic, has played in Sweet 75, Eyes Adrift, Flipper and has contributed bass and accordion to several Foo Fighters songs. Now he’s his involvement in a new band called Giants in the Trees; I’ve got their first song to share with you. The track is called “Sasquatch”. Check it out here:
