Three months ago, Rolling Stones’ guitarist Ronnie Wood was diagnosed with lung cancer, right before he turned 70, but refused chemotherapy as a treatment option… because he didn’t want to lose his hair. Thankfully, the cancer hadn’t spread which meant that surgery was all that was needed. He’s now cancer-free, but has to go for checkups every three months. The Rolling Stones kick off their 14-date “No Filter” tour September 9 in Hamburg, Germany.
Ex-Oasis vocalist Liam Gallagher dropped by an Irish pub in Montreal over the weekend and surprised everyone — including the band — by sitting in for a little jam. He was in Montreal to play the Osheaga festival, when he decided to drop in at McKibbin’s Irish Pub. Liam’s debut solo album is out in October. Check out video of the jam here:

Back in March, Sammy Hagar shared his idea for a Van Halen reunion tour that would also include him and David Lee Roth sharing vocals—as well as original bassist Michael Anthony—but as of now, the band haven’t contacted him about his idea. He notes that if it were to happen, it would have to be without ego or grudges… and would also mean that their current bassist, Eddie Van Halen’s son Wolfgang, would probably have to sit out the tour.
