The Foo Fighters pulled off the most spectacular Rickroll of all time at a music festival in Tokyo yesterday. After the band performed a few of their own songs, lead singer Dave Grohl welcomed singer Rick Astley to the stage. The band then launched into the intro of what sounded like Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit”… but at the last moment, Astley began singing his own “Never Gonna Give You Up”. Watch:
Former Led Zeppelin singers Robert Plant is sharing a lyric video for “The May Queen”, the lead track from his new album “Carry Fire,” which is set to be released on October 13th. He’s once again joined by the Sensational Space Shifters as his backing band. Pretenders singer Chrissie Hynde joins Robert for a duet on the Ersel Hickey rockabilly classic, “Bluebirds Over the Mountain.” Check out “The May Queen” here:
Aerosmith guitarist Brad Whitford has confirmed the band are working on new music, saying that they postponed plans for a US tour later this year in order to return to the studio to work on a new album. They got a head start by doing some recording over in London during their European tour. The band are also considering their options when it comes to releasing new music, noting that they might just put out a few songs for download instead of a traditional album.
Radiohead has made their entire Lollapalooza 2016 appearance available. The over-two-hour set opens with “Burn the Witch,” and features “My Iron Lung,” “No Surprises,” and “Everything in its Right Place”. The double encore features “Bodysnatchers,” “Paranoid Android” and of course “Karma Police”. Watch it here:
