Two years after Rush performed what most believed was their final concert, bassist Geddy Lee and guitarist Alex Lifeson are reportedly considering teaming up under a new name. Geddy seems to be the most enthused, and Alex has been managing his arthritis and tendonitis and is considering the new project. Don’t hold your breath for a Rush reunion though; drummer Neil Peart doesn’t even have a drum kit in his house anymore due to health problems brought on by decades behind the kit.
Metallica are streaming footage from rehearsals with Lady Gaga prior to their appearance on the 59th annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles back on February 12, working on Metallica’s “Moth To Flame”. You’ll remember that during the actual broadcast, James Hetfield’s microphone failed, and he had to share Lady Gaga’s.
Liam Gallagher performed “Wall Of Glass” from his forthcoming solo album debut, As You Were, at the UK’s Reading Festival on Sunday (August 27th). “Wall Of Glass” was released as the lead single from Gallagher’s project – due October 6 – and was followed by the tracks “Chinatown” and “For What It’s Worth.” The album will be available in standard and deluxe editions on digital, CD, vinyl and limited edition colored vinyl, with a special boxed set also offered via Gallagher’s website. Liam plays Rebel in Toronto November 23rd.
The Killers were on social media on yesterday (Monday) afternoon to address lineup changes to the group’s touring band. It was recently reported that guitarist Dave Keuning would not be joining the band on its upcoming tour. He’s taking some time off to be with his family. This is now in addition to original bass player Mark Stoermer going back to college. The Killers’ new album, Wonderful Wonderful, will be released on September 22.
