U2 are streaming a live video for “The Blackout”, as the latest preview to their new album, Songs Of Experience. The band will share more details about the follow-up and to 2014’s Songs Of Innocence when they release the album’s official lead single, “You’re The Best Thing About Me”, on September 6. U2 will resume the North American leg of their 30th anniversary tour of “The Joshua Tree” on September 3 in Detroit, and rolls into Buffalo on the 5th… a new block of tickets has been released for that show. Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson has reportedly addressed the rumors that he and Geddy Lee are contemplating starting a new band together, now that Rush is essentially retired. He says that both he and Geddy stay in close touch, but right now both are busy doing their own thing and they have no plans on putting a band together or touring in the immediate future.
David Gilmour has released a preview clip of Pink Floyd’s “Time” from The Dark Side Of The Moon. It’s from the “Live At Pompeii” concert film that will be released September 29. Those shows were first-ever rock performances played to an audience in an ancient Roman amphitheatre that was built in 90 BC. The film will debut in more than 2000 cinemas worldwide on September 13. Meanwhile, former Floyd bassist Roger Waters has announced dates for an early 2018 tour of New Zealand and Australia.
