Late Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell’s wife Vicky has traveled to Detroit last Friday with an entertainment attorney to ask more questions about his suicide last May. She picked up slides that were taken as evidence in the case. An autopsy concluded that Chris hanged himself in his room at the MGM Grand Detroit hotel, a short time after a sold out concert at the Fox Theatre… but Vicky has said she has had a hard time believing he would take his own life.
In their earliest days, The Rolling Stones made numerous appearances on BBC radio programs from 1963-65 to help build their following, playing songs that were never recorded or released commercially, and for the most part disappearing from the band’s catalog. Those tracks will now be released on a compilation called On-Air, featuring 32 songs that have been remastered by isolating all of the elements of the radio audio and re-building a more pleasing mix. Foo Fighters played their Cal Jam festival over the weekend, and invited Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry on-stage for a version of Aerosmith’s “Draw The Line”, followed by ex-Oasis singer Liam Gallagher joining in for a cover of the The Beatles’ “Come Together”, which Aerosmith recorded in 1978 for the Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band movie. Joe found himself with some free time after Aerosmith had to cancel the remainder of their South American tour after singer Steven Tyler fell ill.
