Billy Corgan’s second solo album Ogilala was released on Friday and the Smashing Pumpkins frontman appeared on The Tonight Show to give fans a taste. He performed “Aeronaut” at a piano while accompanied by a string section. Billy performed all the instruments on the album aside from strings. Former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Buckethead, who played with the band from 2000 through 2004, has revealed that he has been diagnosed with a chronic heart arrhythmia and was told by doctors that he almost had a stroke. He says that at first he just tried to deal with it, thinking that it would eventually stop on its own. But it got worse; to the point where he finally went to the doctor, who delivered the news that he could have died from the condition.
To celebrate John Carpenter’s new album Anthology: Movie Themes 1974-1998, Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross of Nine Inch Nails have released an update of the theme from Halloween. Says Trent, “I clearly remember my friends and I at 13 years old conning our parents into letting us see Halloween when it came out in 1978… we were damages and scarred… with that theme stuck firmly in our heads. John Carpenter, it’s your fault that I turned out the way I did.”
