Ozzy Osbourne has announced the first series of dates for a planned three-year farewell world tour. It kicks off with a show in Mexico on May 5, before heading to South America and Europe, with a North American run to follow. Ozzy will be celebrating more than five decades on stage, both as a solo artist and as lead singer of Black Sabbath, who wrapped up its own farewell tour in February. When Ozzy finishes h8is own tour in 2020, he’ll will be closing in on the age of 72, though he hints that more one-off performances could follow if he feels up to it.
A guitar played by Prince sold at auction for a staggering $700,000… it was only expected to fetch a tenth of that amount. Prince played the blue cloud guitar onstage in the late ’80s and early ’90s. The guitar was accompanied by a letter of authenticity from the builder of the guitar, stating that he made the guitar specifically for Prince.
Metallica are sharing previously unreleased live video of the title track to “Master Of Puppets” from an appearance at the 1986 Roskilde Festival in Denmark. It’s the latest preview to the November 10 release of reissues of the album, which will be available on CD, vinyl and digital in various editions. Filmed July 6, 1986, the footage highlights bassist Cliff Burton, who would die in a tragic tour bus accident in Sweden just two months later.
