Queen are sharing a new unboxing video for the 40th anniversary edition of their News of the World album, which will be released Friday (November 17). It’s the album with probably their best-known songs, “We Will Rock You/We Are the Champions”… their best-selling studio album, at over 6-million copies. The new package includes a disc of alternate takes of every one of the album’s songs, among a host of other goodies.
Metallica headlined Band Together, a benefit concert at San Francisco’s AT&T Park for those affected by the recent wildfires in California that displaced over 100,000 people. Also on the bill were Grateful Dead offshoot Dead & Company, Dave Matthews, Rancid and others. Check out video of the night’s performances here:
A close friend and former bandmate of Chuck Mosley has set up a GoFundMe campaign to help cover the late Faith No More frontman’s funeral expenses. Unfortunately, Chuck died last week at the age of 57 without leaving his family the ability to pay. There’s also discussion of planning a tribute concert to honour him.
Jack White’s last solo album release was 2014’s Lazaretto. Since then, he’s released two live albums, a compilation of previously unreleased acoustic recordings and one single. Which means it’s time for a new album; Jack describes the songs he’s working on as “good gardening music or roofing music or, you know, back-alley stabbing music. I’m trying to think of some good activities that people haven’t written songs for yet.” The new album is expected in the first half of 2018.
