U2 launched their new album, “Songs Of Experience”, with a performance on Saturday Night Live this past weekend. The band played the tracks “American Soul” and “Get Out Of Your Own Way” from the album, which was released Friday. U2 will begin a North American tour in support of “Songs Of Experience” on May 2 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, but before the SNL appearance they decided to strip the music down to its bones and play acoustic on a street corner in Manhattan. Nine women have come forward to accuse his famous playwright father of sexual assault, and Beastie Boys member Adam “Ad-Rock” Horovitz has placed his support clearly with the accusers. Among the women accusing Israel Horovitz of sexual misconduct is Jocelyn Meinhardt, the high school girlfriend of his son. Adam said, “I believe the allegations against my father are true, and I stand behind the women that made them.”
Photographer Robert Ellis has announced that he’ll release a new photo book featuring Led Zeppelin early next year. Led Zeppelin Live Times will be available in February, and will feature more than 500 images across its 200 pages. It begins with the band’s first major show at London’s Royal Albert Hall in 1969 and spans the band’s career up to their final UK event at Knebworth in 1979. The majority of photographs – presented in both black and white and colour – have never been seen before.
