U2 have debuted atop the Billboard album charts with their latest release, Songs Of Experience. It had opening-week sales of 186,000 equivalent album units, of which 180,000 were in traditional album sales. That makes the album U2’s ninth number-1 album. Songs Of Experience also had the biggest week for a rock album in 2017, both in terms of overall units as well as album sales.
Eddie Van Halen’s song Wolfgang is sharing a quick audio preview clip of a song from what will be his debut solo album. He reportedly plays everything on the album: guitars, drums and bass, keyboards and vocals. No word yet on a release date. Check out the clip:
Alice In Chains have announced dates for a 12-show spring tour of North America, which will open in Boston on April 28th. It’ll include a show May 1st at Massey Hall in Toronto. The band have also been working in Seattle on a new album, their first since 2013’s The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here.
Billy Idol is already looking ahead to next year as he has announced the first series of dates for a summer 2018 tour of the UK and Europe. He’ll play a few American dated before heading to Europe.
