Metallica’s “Hardwired…To Self-Destruct” has dominated the year-end rock charts. It landed at #1 on Billboard’s Top Rock Albums and Hard Rock Albums rankings. The album has sold 11 million units in the U.S. in 2017, making it the only rock album to top 800,000 copies. It debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 with opening week sales of 291,000 equivalent album units, making it Metallica’s sixth #1 album; it’s also been nominated for a pair of Grammy Awards, which will be handed out in January.
You’ll be able to ring in the New Year with one of the year’s biggest bands. Imagine Dragons have been added to this year’s Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve telecast, which will be hosted by Ryan Seacrest. The band will perform live on New Year’s Eve from the Allstate Fan Fest in New Orleans ahead of the Allstate Sugar Bowl.
Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke debuted new music during a rare solo show that he performed in Los Angeles. The set was filled with rare and unreleased material, including the track “I Am a Very Rude Person” and the live debut of “Two Feet of the Ground”, which had been used in the soundtrack of a Rag & Bone runway show a couple of years ago.
