A petition is making the rounds in West Niagara urging the provincial government to reconsider its decision to cancel the planned expansion of West Lincoln Memorial Hospital.
The petition will likely be presented to Grimsby Town Council next week, before it is sent on to Queen's Park.
Grimsby Mayor Bob Bentley adds that they'll do whatever they can to help noting that 15 million dollars has been raised in the community towards the long-awaited project.
Bentley also stresses that if cancelling the hospital expansion is a political statement, "parties in power change and if we need to wait a bit, we'll wait a bit". Niagara-West is represented by Conservative leader Tim Hudak.
