Chris Cornell recently stepped in during an argument in an airport lounge after one of the men used bigoted language toward the other.  The New York Post reports that one man called the other “queer” after he made a pro-Barack Obama comment, which is when Cornell stepped in.  An eyewitness told the paper that Cornell stated, “You’re a [bleep].  You deliberately called him a queer to make him feel uncomfortable in front of a lot of people.”  Security then arrived and escorted the man who made the slur out of the lounge.  Reps for the airline said the man that Cornell defended thanked the singer.  The vocalist also had another reason for stepping in, as he was traveling to an Obama fundraising event in San Francisco.
