Bret Michaels has filed a second lawsuit against the producers of the 2009 Tony Awards, the event in which a stage prop hit him on the head. According to The New York Post, Michaels has targeted CBS and claims the network could have employed the standard seven-second broadcast delay to keep viewers from seeing the mishap, but chose not to as the incident would lead to greater publicity for the show. Initially Michaels let everything slide, but after suffering a brain hemorrhage and mild stroke in 2010 he decided to revisit the case. The singer suffered a cut lip and a broken nose, and has claimed that the incident triggered some of his health issues.
